Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time) - Gravesham / Gravesend

Daily Rate: £90 - £95

Are you someone who thrives on helping young people overcome barriers to learning? We're recruiting passionate and reliable Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN schools in the Gravesham area.


The Position:

In this rewarding role, you'll support children and young people with a wide spectrum of additional needs. These may include:

  • Autism and Asperger's Syndrome

  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges

You'll work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised support based on each student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Your goal is to help students feel safe, understood, and motivated to learn.

Please note: Some roles may involve providing personal care, including support with toileting and feeding.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in and out of the classroom to enhance learning and social development

  • Build trusting, positive relationships to encourage confidence and independence

  • Assist in the management of behaviour, promoting emotional regulation and wellbeing

  • Adapt tasks and activities to suit individual learning styles and abilities

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external professionals


What We're Looking For:

  • Caring, flexible, and patient individuals who genuinely want to make a difference

  • Previous experience in education, care, or with SEN children/young people is an advantage

  • Driving licence and own vehicle are essential due to potential travel between sites

  • Able to stay calm under pressure and respond to challenges with empathy

  • A team player with good communication skills and a proactive approach

Essential Requirements:

  • Able to travel up to an hour for work

  • Legal right to work in the UK

  • Comfortable with personal care responsibilities if required

  • Willing to apply for or already hold an Enhanced Child only Workforce DBS on the Update Service

  • Open to completing any relevant background checks
