Job Description
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a passionate and adaptable PRU Teacher to join a supportive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Stratford this September. The role involves teaching a variety of subjects to secondary-aged students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people who benefit from structure, compassion, and creative approaches to learning. The role will start on the 1st September 2025 until 17th July 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of core and foundation subjects (e.g., English, maths, PSHE, humanities).
- Support students with SEMH needs, learning gaps, and low confidence.
- Use restorative practices and trauma-informed strategies to support behaviour.
- Work closely with support staff, therapists and external agencies to provide holistic care.
Essential Requirements:
- QTS/QTLS (or equivalent) with flexibility to teach multiple subjects.
- Experience working with students in alternative provision, SEMH settings, or PRUs.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
- Commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning.
