Teaching Assistant
Southwark
September 2025
£90 - £100 per day (temporary)
SANZA Teaching Agency are currently recruiting on behalf of wonderful primary schools in Southwark who are looking for teaching assistants for a range of positions starting in September 2025 (daily supply and long-term positions).
There are positions available in year 1 to year 6, as well as early years (nursery, reception). The positions will all be a mix of general classroom support, as well as 1:1 support for students who have additional needs.
Key responsibilities of a teaching assistant:
- Provide the class teacher with support to ensure the day runs smoothly
- Assist with preparing resources and activities
- Assist with behaviour management
- Provide support to identified students with additional needs
- Help implement and follow the students' Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs

- Flexible and adaptable- primary schools are busy environments and no day is the same!
- Proactive and able to use initiative
- Confident and assertive- able to implement boundaries and routine
- Fun and approachable and able to connect with children
