SEN Learning Support Assistant - Oldham

Full-Time | Immediate Start | £90-£95 per day (PAYE)

Tradewind Recruitment is thrilled to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant or a passionate graduate aspiring to begin a career in education. This full-time role is based in a vibrant, two-form entry Primary School in Oldham, renowned for its inclusive ethos and exceptional support for students with special educational needs.

This Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' school provides a nurturing and collaborative environment where all children are encouraged to thrive. Staff work closely together to ensure tailored support is available for every learner, particularly those with additional needs.


The Role:

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of children with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs.

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lessons and create engaging, accessible learning experiences.

  • Help students overcome barriers to learning by offering consistent, caring support and encouragement.

  • Contribute to the wider school community, promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for all.

This role is ideal for those with existing SEN experience or graduates considering a future in teaching, as it offers valuable classroom insight and hands-on experience.


What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a mainstream school setting - OR a genuine interest and passion for SEN support.

  • A strong desire to pursue a career in education, with a view to teacher training in the future.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with children and colleagues.

  • A flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning in a dynamic environment.

Application Requirements:

  • Experience supporting SEN students (preferred)

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Full, checkable employment history for the last 10 years, with all gaps explained

  • Legal right to work in the UK
