PE Based 2:1 Teacher / Tutor - Barnoldswick (Qualified or Unqualified)

We are seeking an enthusiastic PE Based 2:1 Teacher / Tutor to join our dedicated team in Barnoldswick, starting September 2025.

This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to work with students in a 2:1 setting, providing tailored academic and physical activity support. About the Role

As a PE Based 2:1 Teacher / Tutor, you will be responsible for creating engaging and supportive learning experiences for two students at a time. Your role will focus on:

  • Delivering personalised PE and sports-based activities that cater to individual needs and abilities.

  • Integrating physical activity with academic support, where appropriate, to enhance engagement and well-being.

  • Providing targeted 2:1 tuition across a range of subjects, adapting your approach to meet specific learning styles and behavioural needs.

  • Fostering a positive, encouraging, and safe environment that promotes physical, emotional, and social development.

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and positive role model.

  • Monitoring progress and adapting strategies to ensure students achieve their full potential.

  • Collaborating with other staff members to ensure holistic support for students.

What We Are Looking For

Essential (Qualified or Unqualified):

  • A genuine passion for Physical Education, sports, and working with young people.

  • Significant experience in leading or coaching sports/PE activities with children or adolescents.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong rapport.

  • Patience, adaptability, and a resilient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.

  • A proactive attitude and commitment to fostering positive behaviour and engagement.

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (if not already held).

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.

  • A degree or qualification in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.

  • Experience in a 1:1 or small group teaching/tutoring environment.

  • Prior experience working in an Alternative Provision (AP) or with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

  • Relevant sports coaching qualifications or First Aid certification.
