Teaching Assistant - English Department
Location: Slough
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time
A secondary school in Slough is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its team on a full-time basis from September. The successful candidate will support the English Department, helping to raise attainment and provide targeted academic and pastoral support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Job Description for Teaching Assistant:
Assist teachers in delivering high-quality English lessons, both in and out of the classroom
Work with individual students and small groups to provide tailored support
Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning materials
Support students with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum
Promote positive behaviour and help to maintain a focused learning environment
Provide regular feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and engagement
Supervise students during non-teaching times, such as break or lunchtime, as required
To be considered for this role, candidates must hold a degree in English or an equivalent subject. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to support young people in their learning. This position is ideal for a recent graduate considering a career in teaching or for someone with relevant educational experience.
