SEN Teaching Assistant - supply
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Supply (part-time and full-time options available)
Daily Rate: £90 - £100 (depending on experience)
Year Groups: Nursery to Year 6
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across primary schools in Barking and Dagenham. This role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with Autism, with opportunities available for both daily and long-term placements.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school setting
Confidence working 1:1 or in small groups (phonics and SATs intervention experience desirable)
Strong relationship-building skills with pupils, staff, and families
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
Effective behaviour management and communication skills
A good understanding of child development, IEPs, and EHCP targets
Essential Requirements
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Legal right to work in the UK
Full work history listed on CV since leaving formal education
Two professional references from the last two years
Overseas police check (if applicable)
