We're seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities and Estates Manager to join our team at a thriving secondary school in Kirkham. The Role 🛠️

As our Facilities and Estates Manager, you'll be the linchpin of our school's physical operations. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and strategic development of our school's buildings, grounds, and facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilities Management: Overseeing all aspects of site maintenance, including cleaning, security, and repairs.

  • Health and Safety: Ensuring full compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and managing risk assessments.

  • Contractor Management: Sourcing, managing, and supervising external contractors for larger projects and specialist work.

  • Budgeting: Managing the facilities budget effectively, ensuring value for money on all projects and expenditures.

  • Strategic Planning: Contributing to the long-term strategic planning for the school's estate, including refurbishment and new build projects.


About You 🔍

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within a school or similar public sector setting.

  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, fire safety).

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

  • A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
