SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School
Location: Southwark, London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Term Time Only - Until July 2026 (with potential to extend or secure a permanent contract)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Daily Rate: £90-£100 (PAYE) increasing to £110-£120 from week 13

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Southwark to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream setting. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance, ensuring every child can thrive both academically and socially.

Your role will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN

  • Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning plans

  • Supporting pupils' social and emotional development

  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has prior experience supporting children with SEN (school or similar setting)

  • Can build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils and staff

  • Is patient, adaptable, and committed to helping children succeed

  • Can commit to the full academic year
