Primary Teacher - Key Stage 1 (Year 2)

The Role
As a Year 2 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for providing creative and engaging lessons that capture the imagination of young learners. You will be confident in delivering the Key Stage 1 curriculum and skilled at adapting your teaching to meet the diverse needs of the class. Your role will also involve contributing to the wider life of the school, taking part in assemblies, clubs, and enrichment activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering exciting, differentiated lessons across all areas of the KS1 curriculum

  • Using effective assessment strategies to track pupil progress and inform future planning

  • Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and independence

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents to support pupil development

  • Preparing children for the end of Key Stage 1 assessments with confidence and care

What We're Looking For
We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and reflective teacher who can inspire a love of learning and help children build strong foundations for their future education. The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in Key Stage 1

  • A strong understanding of the phonics framework and early literacy development

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching core skills in reading, writing, and maths

  • The ability to differentiate effectively and support children with additional needs

  • Outstanding classroom management skills and a positive, nurturing approach
