Are you a talented and experienced chef looking for a rewarding role with great hours? We are seeking a dedicated School Chef to join our catering team in Burnley with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional cook who is passionate about creating delicious, nutritious meals for students and staff.
Working just 25 hours a week, you'll have a perfect work-life balance, finishing just after lunchtime. You will play a vital role in our school community, ensuring everyone receives a high-quality meal every day.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of healthy and appealing school meals.
Ensure all food preparation and kitchen practices comply with strict health and safety and hygiene standards.
Manage stock control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school leadership to create menus that are both tasty and compliant with school food standards.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a reliable and efficient cook who is passionate about food and has a positive attitude.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience as a chef, cook, or in a similar kitchen role.
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.
The ability to work efficiently within a busy kitchen environment.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety regulations.
A strong work ethic and a commitment to providing excellent service.
