Behaviour Mentor
Location: Secondary School, Newham
Contract: Full-time, term-time only

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our secondary school in Newham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

About the role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural, social or emotional needs.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships to help students engage with their learning.

  • Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies to implement effective behaviour strategies.

  • Support the development of students' self-regulation, confidence and resilience.

  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and respectful school environment.

About you
We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of working with young people in a school, youth work or mentoring capacity.

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • Patience, empathy and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • A proactive and solution-focused approach.

  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
