HLTA to Teacher Route - Train While You Work

Location: London (multiple boroughs and settings available)
Salary: £100 - £130 per day (PAYE only)
Contract: Full-time, long-term temp (perm potential)
Start Date: September 2025 or earlier

The Role

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a number of inclusive and forward-thinking primary schools across London that are offering a clear pathway from HLTA to teacher.

This is the ideal opportunity for experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) who are ambitious about becoming fully qualified teachers. You'll gain hands-on classroom experience, supported by senior leaders and mentors, with the potential to access funded training routes such as School Direct or QTS Apprenticeships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learning across classes and lead small group interventions

  • Cover whole classes in the absence of a teacher

  • Build practical teaching experience under the guidance of mentors

  • Develop the skills and confidence to transition into teaching

  • Explore sponsorship or assistance with formal QTS pathways
