Science Teacher - West London

A large and inclusive secondary school based in West London is looking for a dedicated Science Teacher to join their team from October half term.
The role is offered on a long-term contract, with the strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
This is a full-time position, but the school is open to part-time applicants. Working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Inner London MPS/UPS salary will apply.

Responsibilities - Science Teacher - West London

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (any specialism - Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

  • Inspire curiosity and a love for science, helping students understand the real-world applications of scientific knowledge

  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative department, sharing best practices and resources

  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners

  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adapting teaching to meet their individual needs

  • Uphold the school's values and high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement

  • Participate in department meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives

  • Promote science as a subject and support with extracurricular opportunities where appropriate

Qualifications and Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A degree in a Science-related subject

  • Excellent subject knowledge and passion for teaching

  • Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
