We are searching for an exceptional Learning Disability Teaching Assistant to join a specialised academy in the Gainsborough area. The academy provides a tailored education for young people aged 11 to 19 with a wide spectrum of complex learning needs, including autism, dyslexia, Asperger's, and moderate to profound learning difficulties. Your Mission: The Core of the Role

  • Support & Facilitation: You will assist students in navigating a rich, bespoke curriculum, helping them achieve their individual learning goals.

  • Personalised Care: Provide essential support for personal care, mobility, and communication, ensuring dignity and comfort are maintained.

  • Empowerment: Use your understanding of complex needs to help students develop self-regulation, social skills, and the independence to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with a team of teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and champion the holistic development of each student.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities and complex needs is highly desirable.

  • An empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to supporting a diverse range of students.

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for one.

  • Knowledge of communication aids like PECS or Makaton is a significant plus, but not essential.
