Unqualified English Teacher - Daventry
Location: Daventry
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement
Daily Rate: £100-£160 (depending on experience and responsibilities)

Would you like to build on your classroom experience in a supportive school while working towards Qualified Teacher Status?

A well-regarded secondary school in Daventry is looking to appoint an Unqualified English Teacher from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The ideal applicant will already have experience teaching English or leading lessons in a secondary school setting and be looking to progress within the profession.

The Role:

  • Teach English Language and Literature to students in Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that support reading, writing, and analytical skills

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessments, and whole-department initiatives

  • Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment

  • Participate in professional development and whole-school training

Who We're Looking For:

  • Someone with proven experience teaching or leading English lessons in a school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge in English, with the ability to plan and deliver lessons

  • Confident classroom presence with effective behaviour management skills

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  • A desire to work towards QTS through a school-based route (e.g. PGCE, SCITT, QTS Apprenticeship)

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
