Job Description

A warm and ambitious primary school in the heart of Crumpsall, North Manchester, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Year 6 teacher to join their Upper Key Stage 2 team. This Year 6 role will begin in January 2026 and run for two full terms, taking pupils through their crucial final year of primary school and preparing them for the transition to secondary education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 2 SATs assessments, ensuring they make strong progress
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour, effort and achievement
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, providing targeted support where needed
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
  • A strong track record in Key Stage 2
  • Experience in Year 6 is essential in this role
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
