Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision (KS4)

Location: Blackpool

Setting: Alternative Provision / SEMH School

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

Tradewind is currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and dynamic Alternative Provision, seeking an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team and support Key Stage 4 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

In this vital role, you will work closely with pupils facing significant challenges, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will support students both academically and emotionally, often on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, including those with ADHD, Autism, ODD, and anxiety
  • Managing small groups independently and confidently
  • Using positive behaviour strategies to engage and motivate students
  • Helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
  • Assisting with the development of personalised learning plans

About You:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with students with SEMH or in an Alternative Provision setting
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Able to use initiative and form strong, positive relationships with young people
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
