Job Opportunity: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a real difference in their lives? We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school that values inclusive education and personalised learning.
About the Role
You will be working closely with four pupils who require additional support, including two non-verbal students. These children present with challenging behaviours, and each will need tailored assistance to help them engage fully in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support, both inside and outside the classroom.
Implement individualised behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement.
Support pupils' academic progress while fostering their social and emotional development.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to maintain a structured, supportive learning environment.
Play a key role in increasing the pupils' timetable from part-time to full-time, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and essential skills.
What We're Looking For
Experience working with children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs, particularly non-verbal pupils.
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to apply them consistently.
Compassion, patience, and adaptability, with a genuine commitment to pupil well-being and progress.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, working effectively with colleagues and parents.
