Job Opportunity: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a real difference in their lives? We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school that values inclusive education and personalised learning.

About the Role

You will be working closely with four pupils who require additional support, including two non-verbal students. These children present with challenging behaviours, and each will need tailored assistance to help them engage fully in their learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Implement individualised behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement.

  • Support pupils' academic progress while fostering their social and emotional development.

  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to maintain a structured, supportive learning environment.

  • Play a key role in increasing the pupils' timetable from part-time to full-time, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and essential skills.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs, particularly non-verbal pupils.

  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to apply them consistently.

  • Compassion, patience, and adaptability, with a genuine commitment to pupil well-being and progress.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, working effectively with colleagues and parents.
