Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School

💼 Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term Supply
💷 Daily Rate: £90 - £100 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive Secondary School in Crewe, who are looking to appoint a committed and proactive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN department to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Mild to moderate learning difficulties

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • ADHD

  • Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs

You will be:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

  • Helping to adapt classroom materials to meet individual needs

  • Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons

  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

  • Monitoring pupil progress and reporting back to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally in a school or youth work setting

  • Be confident working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour

  • Be patient, empathetic, and flexible in their approach

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
