Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary School, Camden | ASAP Start

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Camden, which is looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team and start ASAP. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a degree-qualified individual who is considering a career in teaching or education and is eager to make a meaningful impact.

About the Role:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide in-class support across a range of subjects including English, Maths, and Science.

  • Work one-to-one and in small groups with students who may require additional academic or emotional support.

  • Collaborate with class teachers and pastoral staff to deliver tailored interventions and promote positive behaviour.

  • Help prepare resources and adapt lesson materials to meet varying student needs.

  • Contribute to the overall learning environment by supporting students' social development and engagement.

  • Gain invaluable insight into the teaching profession - perfect for those considering teacher training in the future.

Requirements:

  • A UK degree (or equivalent) is essential.

  • Prior experience working with young people (e.g., in schools, tutoring, youth work, or mentoring) is highly desirable.

  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic attitude with excellent communication skills.

  • Confidence to support students across different key stages and academic abilities.

  • A strong interest in education, with aspirations to progress within the field.

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
