PMLD Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEN schools across North Somerset.
What you'll be doing:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Needs. These learners have complex needs so often require a high level of personal care and support with communication, mobility and sensory processing.
You will work as part of a skilled and supportive team, helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive.

Core responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Assisting with personal care (feeding, toileting, hygiene) and mobility support
* Facilitating sensory-based learning and communication (using methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC)
* Following individual EHCPs and supporting therapeutic interventions
* Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professional
* Personal Care/hygiene, feeding and medication
The role:
* Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only
* Pay: from £95 per day
* Flexible: part-time or full-time options available
* Start: Immediate starts available (with potential for permanent contracts for the right person)
* Location: North Somerset
