Music Supply Teacher - Northampton

We are currently supporting a number of inclusive and vibrant secondary schools across Northampton seeking skilled and passionate Music Supply Teachers for October 2025 and beyond. These roles offer the chance to teach in well-resourced schools where the arts are valued, with the flexibility of long-term or ongoing supply work.

The Role:

  • Teach engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for GCSE or A-Level depending on placement

  • Deliver practical, performance-based learning as well as theoretical components of the Music curriculum

  • Support schools with extra-curricular music where possible - such as choirs, ensembles, or school concerts

  • Adapt quickly to new environments and support continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher

  • Work collaboratively with school staff while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and progress

About You:

  • Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Confident teaching both practical and theoretical music, including use of music technology

  • Competent in at least one instrument and able to guide student performance with enthusiasm

  • Flexible, proactive, and able to build strong rapport with students and staff across different settings

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply and will be fully supported in supply placements
