Job Title: SEN Teacher - Autism Specialist
Location: Thurrock
Start Date: ASAP/ Jan 2026

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher with a strong background in supporting children with Autism. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a well-resourced and supportive school, working with a small group of pupils with a range of needs on the Autism Spectrum.

You will be responsible for delivering a tailored curriculum that supports each child's individual learning journey. The successful candidate will make part of a team tasked with creating a nurturing and structured environment that promotes academic progress, emotional development, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with Autism
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting approaches as necessary
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Manage classroom behaviour in a positive and consistent manner

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
  • Proven experience teaching children with Autism and complex needs
  • Strong understanding of relevant teaching strategies
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
