Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated Special Needs Teachers to work across various special schools and specialist settings throughout North London. These specialist provisions support students with diverse needs including autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and communication difficulties who deserve expert educational guidance to unlock their capabilities. We have full-time and part time positions available starting now with excellent prospects for permanent placements.
As a Special Needs Teacher you will be responsible for:
- Designing differentiated curriculum content adapted to meet the unique needs of students with SEND
- Teaching small classes and delivering impactful one-to-one support to maximise individual progress
- Implementing creative multisensory teaching approaches that celebrate individual abilities
- Developing and executing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) addressing academic and developmental goals
- Creating inclusive classroom environments that foster independence and positive learning experiences
- Collaborating with therapists, families and external agencies to provide holistic student support
- Tracking progress against personalised targets and adapting teaching methods to enhance outcomes
- Leading compassionate behaviour support strategies alongside effective curriculum delivery
To excel in this role you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with demonstrable experience teaching students with SEND in specialist or mainstream settings
- Strong understanding of differentiation techniques, sensory integration, and evidence-based SEND teaching practices
- Excellent classroom management skills and ability to remain patient, creative, and responsive to diverse learning needs
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (where applicable) and strong professional references
- Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible
- Right to work in the UK
