English Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for enthusiastic and passionate English Teacher to work on a full time basis at a fantastic school in Hull. This role will be starting 5th January 2026, and will last until the end of the academic year (July 2026). This full time, temporary role is covering the period of maternity, and as such there may be potential for this role to extend in the future. Full planning and marking will be expected for this role, so the successful candidate can expect to earn between £32,916 to £51,047 per year for this role. Scaled down to a daily rate, this is between £168.80 to £261.77 per year.

For this role, you will be planning and marking for Key Stage 3 and 4 English lessons. You will be provided with some excellent resources, and will be simply amending these lessons to suit the needs of your specific learners. There is a strong ECT Coordinator in place, and there would be potential to sign off two terms of DBS in this role. While this is a full time role, there is potential for 4 days a week in this booking.

This school is located in Hull, and is part of a small, but exceptional academy trust, and as such there is the potential for further work within the trust. The school is easily accessible via car and has a large onsite car park. The school has a large SEND department, so any candidate who has experience with SEND learners would be encouraged to apply for this position. Feedback from the temporary staff in this school is that they are extremely welcoming and treat supply staff like permanent members of staff.

Success in this role may lead to further bookings in other Trust Schools, which are local within the Hull area, each with similarly strong reputations.

Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Has QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has experience teaching English to Key Stage 4 students.
  • Have experience working within schools in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the full CV History
  • Legal right to work in the UK
