History Teacher Vacancy

We are seeking a highly passionate, dedicated, and dynamic History Teacher to join the Humanities Department at a fantastic secondary school located in Blackpool, Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced teacher or a talented Early Career Teacher (ECT/NQT) to secure a full-time, short term position starting on the 3rd November 2025.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging History lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), fostering a deep curiosity about the past and ensuring excellent pupil outcomes.


Key Responsibilities and Requirements

As a Blackpool History Teacher, you will be instrumental in making the past relevant and exciting for our students.

Core Duties

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, inspiring History lessons to diverse classes across KS3 and GCSE.

  • Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of pupils, using data to inform future teaching.

  • Contribute to the development of the History curriculum, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning within the Humanities Department.

  • Maintain a stimulating, safe, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages mutual respect and positive engagement.

  • Act as a tutor and actively contribute to the school's pastoral life.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent full teaching qualification (ECTs welcome to apply).

  • A relevant degree in History or a closely related subject.

  • Proven ability to teach History at GCSE level (KS4).

  • Thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective classroom management strategies.

  • A passion for the subject and the drive to inspire young people.
