Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the heart of Didsbury, Manchester is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join their team after the October half term. This is a full-time position running through to the end of the academic year, with the potential for continuation for the right candidate.

The successful teacher will lead a small, well-supported Nurture Group comprising seven pupils who benefit from additional social, emotional, and academic support. The group is further supported by two experienced teaching assistants, creating a nurturing and structured environment where every child can thrive.

The Special Needs Teacher will:

  • Plan and deliver tailored learning experiences that promote progress across all areas of development.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that builds confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to ensure each child's individual needs are met.
  • Maintain clear records of progress and contribute to the wider school community through open communication and teamwork.

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or strong interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
