Are you a passionate and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a love for English? Do you thrive on helping young people develop their literacy skills and achieve their full potential? If so, Tradewind Recruitment would love to hear from you!

We're currently supporting a thriving secondary school in Barnsley who are looking for an experienced English HLTA to join their dedicated team after half-term. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity that could lead to a permanent position for the right person.

The Role:

As an English HLTA, you'll be:

  • Supporting the English department to deliver engaging and creative lessons

  • Leading small group interventions to boost confidence and attainment in literacy

  • Covering lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4 when needed

  • Assisting with planning, marking, and classroom support to ensure every student succeeds

About You:

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds HLTA status (or equivalent experience)

  • Has a strong background in English or literacy support

  • Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude to every lesson

  • Is committed to making learning accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable
