Secondary School Teaching Assistant

Location: Kensington and Chelsea
Contract: Full Time, Long Term (Monday - Friday)
Hours: 8.30am - 4.00pm

An outstanding and forward-thinking secondary school in Kensington and Chelsea is seeking a motivated Secondary School Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated staff team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for graduates or individuals passionate about working in education to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive, high-achieving environment.

This position is to start from January 2026, or potentially sooner for the right candidate.

As a Secondary School Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students thrive academically and emotionally, working closely with teachers and support staff to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Key Duties:

  • Support teachers in delivering creative and inspiring lessons across a range of subjects.

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students who need extra academic or emotional support.

  • Assist pupils with special educational needs (SEN) to access learning activities and achieve their goals.

  • Encourage positive classroom behaviour and help maintain a calm, productive learning atmosphere.

  • Help plan and organise classroom resources and support lesson preparation.

  • Participate in pastoral support, mentoring, and enrichment activities.

  • Contribute to the wider school community by promoting a culture of respect, responsibility, and enthusiasm for learning.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people or within an educational setting is desirable.

  • Graduates considering a career in teaching or education are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.

  • A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude towards supporting student needs.
