About the Role

Are you interested in supporting students with additional needs? SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a friendly, inclusive Secondary SEN school in Harrow seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of secondary-aged students while gaining valuable experience in a supportive SEND setting.

You'll work with pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve personal goals in a safe and nurturing environment.

The role starts ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to continue after that.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a variety of SEN, including Autism and PMLD

  • Assist with pupils' personal care, communication, and mobility needs where required

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored learning support

  • Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a dedicated, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEN (particularly Autism and/or PMLD)

  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and resilience

  • Can work independently and as part of a supportive team

  • Communicates effectively with students, staff, and parents

  • Is passionate about making a positive and lasting impact in the lives of students with additional needs
