Teaching Assistant - Secondary Support

Location: Barrow-In-Furness
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start: ASAP

About the Role

Are you passionate about education and looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?
We're recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a number of friendly and supportive secondary schools across the Barrow-In-Furness area.

These are well-established, inclusive schools with excellent leadership teams who truly value their support staff. You'll be part of a warm, collaborative environment where senior leaders and teachers provide ongoing support and guidance.

Your role will involve helping students reach their potential - whether that's through academic support in lessons, pastoral guidance, or helping pupils develop confidence and independence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting students in lessons to help them stay focused and engaged.

  • Providing 1:1 or small-group interventions to boost confidence and progress.

  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.

  • Encouraging students with mild learning, social, or emotional needs to reach their goals.

  • Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.

  • Building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to support progress.

What We're Looking For

  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, tutoring, or mentoring).

  • A genuine interest in education, child development, or SEND support.

  • Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
