The Role: Transformative Teaching in Alternative Provision

Our independent Alternative Provision (AP) trust in Barnoldswick, Lancashire is seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our committed team. This is a Temporary to Permanent opportunity designed for an outstanding practitioner who can make an immediate impact on students who have become disengaged from mainstream education due to complex needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health).

Key Benefits & Opportunity

  • QTS Not Essential: We welcome applications from both Qualified Teachers (QTS) and Unqualified Teachers who possess significant, relevant experience (e.g., youth work, SEND support, mentoring, or subject expertise).

  • Clear Progression: This is a genuine temp-to-perm route. Following a successful probationary period, you will be offered a permanent contract.

  • Immediate Start: A strong preference for a January 2026 start, but we can accommodate an earlier start date for the right candidate.

What You Will Bring

We are seeking a candidate who is primarily defined by their resilience, empathy, and ability to build strong, positive relationships.

  • Teaching/Experience: Proven experience teaching or supporting young people (KS3/KS4) with challenging behaviour and/or complex SEND needs.

  • Subject Expertise: Ability to deliver engaging lessons across a core curriculum area or a practical/vocational subject (please specify your specialism).

  • Behaviour Management: A therapeutic, restorative, and non-confrontational approach to behaviour management.

  • Adaptability: The flexibility and creativity to plan and deliver a tailored, bespoke curriculum that re-engages learners.
