Part-Time Dance Teacher (QTS) - Derby

Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays | Starting 19th November 2025

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Dance to join one of our excellent secondary schools located just outside Derby City Centre, starting 19th November 2025.

This is a part-time position (Wednesday to Friday) teaching students in Years 7 to 10, offering a fantastic chance to nurture creativity, confidence, and expression through the performing arts.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Dance Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Dance lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Inspire students to develop technical skills, creativity, and confidence in performance

  • Differentiate lessons to support and challenge learners of all abilities

  • Contribute to school performances, showcases, and extracurricular activities

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and collaboration

Requirements:

To be successful as a Teacher of Dance, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Dance and the Performing Arts

  • Experience teaching Dance within a UK secondary school setting

  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
