Female PE Teacher

We are seeking a Female PE Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Brixton on a maternity cover from January. This role is perfect for an energetic and passionate teacher who can inspire students to enjoy and excel in Physical Education.

About the Role:

Start date: January 2026 - 1-year maternity contract

Salary: London MPS/UPS

Key responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Prepare students for GCSE PE, promoting both theoretical and practical understanding.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.

Encourage participation in extracurricular PE activities and school sports events.

Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and student engagement.

Qualifications and Person Specification:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic PE Teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Has experience teaching PE at Key Stages 3 and 4, ideally including GCSE PE.

Is passionate about physical education, health, and wellbeing.

Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

Can motivate students of all abilities to engage in active learning.

Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the school environment.
