A vibrant and nurturing 2-form entry primary school in Urmston, Trafford, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their dedicated team from January 2026. The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, supporting pupils as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. This is a crucial stage in a child's education, and the school is looking for someone who can make learning engaging, purposeful, and joyful while building on the strong foundations established in Reception.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
- Provide a smooth and supportive transition from EYFS to Year 1, ensuring children continue to develop confidence and independence.
- Create a positive, stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity and a love of learning.
- Track and monitor pupil progress, identifying areas for support and challenge.
- Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 1 teacher and support staff to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach.
- Establish strong partnerships with parents and carers to support pupils' academic and personal development.

- Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
