A thriving and inclusive 2-form entry primary school in the Urmston area of Trafford is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Year 6 Class Teacher to join its dedicated team from January 2026 for a two-term placement.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for one of the school's Year 6 classes, guiding pupils through their final year of primary education and ensuring they are fully prepared - academically and emotionally - for the transition to secondary school.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge all learners.
  • Preparing pupils effectively for Key Stage 2 SATs, ensuring they make strong progress across reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Using assessment data to identify next steps, support targeted interventions, and celebrate success.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes resilience, independence, and curiosity.
  • Working closely with the parallel Year 6 teacher to share planning, moderation, and best practice.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers to build strong partnerships that support pupil progress and well-being.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and whole-school events.

  • Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
