Experienced Teaching Assistant - Merton

Location: Merton, South West London
Position: Experienced Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Long-Term)
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Pay: £90-£110 per day (depending on experience)

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Merton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual who is passionate about supporting students' learning and development across all areas of the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in class, providing targeted assistance to ensure progress and engagement.

  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality support and differentiated learning.

  • Provide one-to-one or small group interventions where needed.

  • Assist with classroom management and help create a positive learning environment.

  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons and activities.

  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, promoting confidence and independence.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary or secondary school.

  • Strong understanding of classroom support strategies and differentiated learning.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A proactive, flexible, and patient approach.

  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.

  • Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
