Are you an experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in the Wigan area?

Tradewind are currently recruiting a 1:1 SEN Year 4 Teaching Assistant for a very popular Church of England Primary School on the outskirts of Wigan. This role is a long -term temporary role to start in December and will continue until July 2026.

This small 1 form entry Church of England Primary School is a vibrant inclusive school at the heart of the local community. They provide a safe, happy and well-disciplined learning environment and have a supportive SLT. They are committed to the highest standards of teaching through a combination of an engaging, innovative curriculum high quality teaching, support, encouragement and praise.

This Church of England Primary school caters for approx. 185 pupils across ages 4-11 and has a very nurturing environment.

This Primary School is looking for someone to join their committed, passionate, and supportive team. The successful candidate must have excellent behaviour management, a good knowledge of the National Curriculum and have prior experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour, ADHD and SEMH. The role itself will involve working 1:1 with a child in Year 4 with challenging behaviour.

The school is in Wigan and is easily accessible via car and has free parking on site. The School is also accessible via public transport and has excellent bus links.

To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant role you will need to:

  • Hold a L2 or above Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification
  • SEN experience including ADHD, challenging behaviour and SEMH
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
