Pastoral Officer - Permanent, Full-Time

Location: North Derbyshire (Chesterfield & Chapel-en-le-Frith)

Salary: £24,763 - £26,407 (term-time only)

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Start Date: ASAP - Can accommodate a notice period

We provide tailored support to help these pupils re-engage with learning and reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

About the Role:


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Officer to join our Trust, supporting the pastoral needs of pupils across two sites: a primary school in Chesterfield and a secondary school near Chapel-en-le-Frith. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in social work, or for a teacher looking to broaden their expertise in pastoral care.

You will play a key role in supporting the social, emotional, and behavioural development of pupils, working closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure the well being of all children in your care.

Key Details:

  • Hours: 37 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks)

  • Salary: £24,763 - £26,407 per annum (Term time only)

  • Initial Payroll: Through Tradewind Recruitment, moving to a school contract following induction

  • Mileage Expenses: Paid

  • Driving: Applicants must hold a valid driving licence

Person Specification:

  • Experience in pastoral care, social work, or teaching

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work across two school sites efficiently
