Job Description

Y5/6 Teacher | Runcorn
Full-Time | January-July 2026 | £140-£200 per day

A supportive primary school in Runcorn is looking to appoint a Y5/6 Teacher from January 2026 to the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to join a school with a warm, community-focused atmosphere where staff work closely together and children are encouraged to thrive academically and personally.

About the Role
The successful teacher will take full responsibility for a mixed Year 5/6 class, delivering engaging, well-paced lessons that help pupils make strong progress in the run-up to SATs. You will nurture children's confidence, encourage curiosity and provide a classroom environment where every learner feels safe, included and supported.

This post is ideal for a confident practitioner-whether experienced or newly qualified-who loves upper KS2 and wants to play a key part in pupils' final year of primary education.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Teaching a Year 5/6 class full-time and ensuring high-quality learning each day

  • Planning purposeful, structured lessons that challenge and support all pupils

  • Tracking progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs

  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

  • Contributing positively to the school's caring ethos and wider school life

What We're Looking For:

  • QTS and a genuine passion for primary education

  • A strong understanding of KS2 expectations, especially English and Maths

  • The ability to motivate, encourage and inspire pupils of varying abilities

  • Good behaviour management and confident classroom presence

  • Strong organisation and communication skills

Experience in KS2 is beneficial, but the school is equally open to candidates from other primary phases who bring enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn.

Visits to the school can be arranged and are highly encouraged.

If you're ready to make a meaningful impact in a supportive Runcorn primary school, we'd love to hear from you.
