SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School Specialist Unit
Location: Moston, Manchester
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school and work within our on-site Specialist SEN Unit, supporting children with complex learning needs.
This is a rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference every day.
About the Role
As part of our specialist provision, you will:
Support pupils with a range of complex needs, including those who are non-verbal or have communication differences.
Provide personal care where required, ensuring children's dignity and comfort at all times.
Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
Assist with individualised learning activities, sensory programmes, and structured daily routines.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, using patience, creativity, and empathy.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have experience supporting children with SEND, particularly complex needs (desirable but not essential).
Are calm, resilient, and adaptable.
Have excellent communication skills and a positive, child-centred approach.
Are willing and able to provide personal care.
Are passionate about helping every child achieve their potential.
