Job Description
We are urgently seeking outstanding, resilient and compassionate tutors to join our growing team delivering high-quality, face-to-face tuition to children and young people in Key Stages 2-5 who are currently unable to attend school. All roles are based across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Who we need
- Qualified Teachers (QTS or QTLS) or experienced tutors with a strong track record in primary, secondary or SEN settings
- Specialists in English, Maths, Science, Functional Skills, GCSE preparation and resits (we particularly welcome combined-subject tutors)
- Confident professionals with proven experience (or a genuine desire to work) with learners who present with:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- Anxiety and school refusal
- Autism, ADHD, SPD and other SEND
- Looked-After Children and those with trauma backgrounds
- Highly disengaged or school-phobic young people
What the role looks like
- 1:1 or very small-group tuition in students' homes or community venues across Hull and the East Riding
- Sessions typically 2-3 hours, 2-5 days per week (we can offer anything from 10-30+ hours per week)
- Short-term interventions through to long-term packages (term-time only or year-round contracts available)
- Full planning and resources provided where needed, or freedom to plan your own lessons
- Regular supervision, safeguarding support and free CPD (trauma-informed practice, autism, anxiety, de-escalation, etc.)
You will bring
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach from Year 3 up to GCSE level
- A calm, patient, relationship-first approach with exceptional rapport-building skills
- Confidence adapting lessons in the moment to meet emotional and sensory needs
- Current Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service is a bonus) and safeguarding training
- Full driving licence and own car (essential - mileage paid at 45p per mile + travel time)
