Alternative Provision Mentor
Location: Blackpool
Start Date: 5th January
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday (5 days per week)
Pay Rate: £90 - £130 per day
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Mentor to work within an Alternative Provision in Blackpool. You will be responsible for providing consistent guidance, support, and structure for a small cohort of four children, helping them engage positively with learning and develop essential social and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities
Build trusting and professional relationships with students.
Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Deliver tailored mentoring sessions and structured daily activities.
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and personal development.
Work collaboratively with staff, external agencies, and families.
Maintain accurate records, behaviour logs, and progress notes.
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
Experience working with challenging behaviour or within an Alternative Provision (desirable).
Ability to remain calm, consistent, and solution-focused.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
