SEN Teaching Assistant - Independent Secondary School
A small independent secondary school near Putney Bridge is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with dyslexia, ASD and ADHD in classes of 3-8 students (Years 9-11, mainstream curriculum).
Role Details
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Dyslexia & ADHD)
Location: Fulham (District Line & local buses)
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:25am-3:45pm, term time only
Start: January - February half-term (likely extension)
About the Role
Provide 1:1 and in-class support in core subjects (English & Maths - Functional Skills & GCSE).
Assist with mock exams, including scribing.
Support small groups with differentiated learning.
Use Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, etc.
Contribute to enrichment/creative sessions (Art, DT, Food Tech, Gaming, Sport).
Work closely with teachers to adapt resources for SEND learners.
Person Specification
Understanding of dyslexia, ADHD and related learning needs
Calm, patient, empathetic approach
Strong literacy skills for reading/writing support
Confident using Google Workspace
Interest in creative or enrichment activities (desirable)
Graduate preferred, not essential
Compliance Requirements
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain)
Right to work in the UK
References for the last 2 years
Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
Full ID/address checks
Experience with children or young people (preferred)
