Teaching Assistant - Islington
Start Date: ASAP - July 2026
Hours: Full-time, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Location: Accessible by bus or tube

About the Role
Tradewind is partnering with a welcoming Islington primary school with an excellent SEN provision. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex ASD. This is a long-term, rewarding role working with children on a personalised curriculum.

Key Responsibilities - SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Support KS1/ KS2 pupils with ASD in class and small group settings

  • Deliver personalised curriculum activities, including art, sensory play, singing, and motor skills development

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team

  • Encourage pupil engagement, communication, and independence

  • Implement structured interventions

  • Experience with PECS and Attention Autism is desirable

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be:

  • Nurturing, calm, and caring

  • Skilled in behaviour management

  • Patient, resilient, and able to follow routines

  • Passionate, committed, and reliable

  • A strong communicator with good oracy skills

  • Excellent at time-keeping

  • Available full-time with no pre-booked holidays during term time

Compliance Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Two professional references covering the last two years

  • Full employment history with explanations for any gaps

  • Proof of address

  • Overseas police checks if applicable
