Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Start Date: February 26
A welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Darlington is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Art Teacher to join their thriving Art department from February 26. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop artistic confidence, technical skills, and a deeper appreciation for visual creativity.
Role Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach across KS3 and KS4, covering a range of artistic media such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and digital art.
* Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that nurtures creativity, exploration, and imaginative thinking.
* Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
* Monitor progress, assess student work, and provide constructive feedback to help learners develop their artistic skills.
* Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE Art examinations, ensuring they feel confident and supported.
* Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and continuous improvement within the Art department.
* Support enrichment activities such as art clubs, exhibitions, competitions, and creative projects.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching Art at KS3-KS4.
* Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic mediums and techniques.
* Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to raising student achievement.
* A passion for fostering creativity and promoting the value of the arts in education.
