SEN Teacher - Secondary (Maths & English)
Location: International School, SEN Department
Borough: Westminster
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Role: SEN Teacher / Tutor (Secondary)
- Salary: M1 to M6 depending on expereince
Job Overview:
Provide one-to-one teaching in Maths and English to secondary-aged students within the SEN department.
Deliver tailored, engaging lessons that meet individual Education Plans (EHCPs).
Support students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Dyslexia, adapting teaching strategies to suit diverse learning needs.
Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and support staff within an international school environment.
Monitor progress, set targets, and provide feedback to support academic and personal development.
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
Job Requirements - SEN Teacher / Tutor:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or proven experience as an SEN Tutor in secondary education.
Strong subject knowledge in Secondary Maths and English.
Experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Dyslexia.
Ability to differentiate, individualised lessons.
Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Experience working within an SEN or specialist provision is highly desirable.
Compliance Requirements:
Enhanced DBS check (registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply).
Right to work in the UK.
Two professional references.
Relevant teaching qualifications and/or SEN training certificates.
