SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Support TA
Location: Hammersmith & Fulham, West London (near Putney Bridge Station)
Contract: January 2026 - July 2026
Hours: 8:30am - 3:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Setting: SEMH Secondary School | KS1 | Small Class Sizes

About the Role
An inclusive SEMH secondary school in Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Support TA from January 2026. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate behaviour, build confidence and re-engage with learning.

The school provides a structured, nurturing environment with small classes, strong pastoral support and an experienced team. The site is within walking distance of Putney Bridge Station and well served by bus routes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across KS1

  • Deliver behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group learning and emotional support

  • Implement behaviour plans and risk assessments

  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement

  • Uphold safeguarding and welfare procedures

The Ideal Candidate
Calm, resilient and nurturing, with experience supporting SEMH or SEN pupils. Confident managing challenging behaviour and building strong relationships.

Essential Requirements

  • SEMH/SEN/PRU or alternative provision experience

  • Trauma-informed and restorative practice knowledge

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

  • Right to work in the UK
