Tradewind Recruitment are working with an excellent secondary school in Barnet seeking a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from January 2026. This full-time, long-term role (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm) is ideal for graduates passionate about inspiring young people and supporting their academic and personal development.
Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview
- Support students across Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, English, and Religious Studies, as well as in general classroom settings.
- Work closely with the SENCO, Pastoral Team, and subject teachers to provide tailored academic and emotional support.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to help students reach their full potential.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging curiosity, debate, and confidence.
- Support students with additional learning needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, and SEMH) through empathy and structured guidance.
- Gain valuable, hands-on experience relevant to teacher training, education policy, or youth and community work.
Requirements
- A recent Humanities graduate (e.g., History, English, Geography, Politics, Philosophy, or related field).
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
- Empathetic, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
